There are several ways to obtain a United Kingdom work permit. Below are a few options through the UK government. Please note that we are unable to sponsor internship candidates for UK work permits. The UK work permit should be obtained prior to the start of the Internship-UK work experience. We will try to assist you as best as we can in your UK work permit process.

• UK Student Work Permit
  The UK Border Agency allows students to apply for a student work permit. You must have an employer sponsor you with a job. The permit is eligible for a maximum of three months. It costs about £190 and takes as little as 5 days depending on time of submission. It is recommended to apply as soon as possible.


• UK Dual Citizenship
  This second option allows you to obtain dual citizenship of a country in the European Union including the United Kingdom. It requires that you provide an ancestral line to the applicant country. By obtaining dual citizenship you will be able to work in all countries of the EU.

If you wish to work in the UK through a more simpler process, programs are available for the following countries through a BUNAC affiliated company.

• American Students seeking to work in London or UK
  Due to the recent closing of the BUNAC Blue Card Program, we are unable to accept USA students into our Internship-UK programs at the current moment. We are hoping that a similar program will open up in the coming year which allows students to work in the UK for up to 6 months. We have been informed that the UK and US governments will come to a decision about the UK student work visa within the next month. For more up to date information on the status of the programme, please visit BUNAC.
  
  Internship-UK apologizes for being unable to review your application at the moment. When the new UK student work visa program opens, we will be accepting applications from the USA again. As of now, we would suggest that you stay updated on the status of the current situation, and apply to Internship-UK when a UK student work visa program has opened. If you have another means of obtaining a UK work visa, please inform us and we will do our best to assist you. • Australian Students seeking to work in London or UK
  Students in Australia are eligible for a Working Holiday Britain visa through the International Exchange Program Australia. The membership to the IEP program costs $250 for two years. Services include obtaining working visas, banking, tax, etc. Applications are available year round.


• Canadian Students seeking to work in London, UK
  Canadian Students are able to obtain a visa through SWAP. This program allows students to obtain a visa for work up to a maximum of 12 months over a 24 month period. Fee's are $660 and must be applied seven weeks prior to departure.


• New Zealand Students seeking to work in London, UK
  Work visas are available through the International Exchange Program New Zealand for a period of two years. Suggested application is eight weeks prior to departure.


• South African Students seeking to work in London, UK If you are a South African Student, you will be able to apply for a UK work visa through the Chilli Adventures. Work UK visa's can also be applied for through STA Travel.
